Background

Mr. Gibson specializes in entertainment, commercial and corporate law. He primarily focuses on transactions related to feature film and television production on behalf of financial institutions, investors, production companies, Hollywood studios and other industry players. He also represents concert producers, publishers, publicity agencies and merchandising companies. In addition, he acts as commercial and corporate counsel to non-entertainment industry clients, concentrating on joint venture, share, asset and licensing transactions.

As a chartered arbitrator in Montreal and Toronto, he hears entertainment, commercial and corporate cases in English and French. His services also include dispute resolution and risk management. He works with the parties and their counsel to design appropriate hybrid methods to settle their dispute and, as a mediator-facilitator, helps them overcome deal negotiation hurdles so that they can conclude new agreements and potentially establish new business relationships.
